Need help getting info on what im going to need for turbocharged 408 5.9 magnum buil
Im building my 99 dodge ram 1500 for boost I’ve already decided on 408 stroker anyone got recommendations on turbo kits, injectors, etc
You won't find a kit any more. They stopped making these engines more than 20 years ago. Everything is going to have to be fabbed up, or, get REALLY lucky, and find something in EBay, or whathaveyou. Gonna need a 3 bar MAP, and the ability to tune the PCM. Which injectors you will need, will depend a LOT on how much boost you are going to run. If you are going to run more than 7 pounds, you will want ALL forged internals. (not cheap..... of course, nothing that has the word "Turbo" in it is exactly cheap.....
) Having someone in the area that can do dyno tuning would be a great start for getting it running right, once you have it all together.

Before you spend a yuan get your parts list and subcontractors needed list together. Working in a machine shop would be a serious plus. Any additional tools needed. Time budgeted as well. Now add fifty percent to all the figures, and another 25 percent to cover failures along the way.
And I forgot to mention the trans, rear end, suspension, and brake upgrades needed. Wheels, tires, and of course bodywork and paint. Mucho plato y oro.
And then, the dread part needed to finish it all made of unobtanium, not even available if you traded your first born, or forbid, the dog.
A journey of 10,000 miles begins with a map, or MAPP sensor. Do that spread sheet.
Right now I am finishing somebody's failed 7 year dream. You regularly see these dreams offered up bringing less that 25 cents on the dollar invested. Time paying negative numbers.
I will get it up going and pretty with a 24 hour time budget and $500 more in parts and interior. But I've been to the dance before, and as Dirty Harry said, "A man's gotta know his limits".

Research, deep pockets and the ability to accept failure.
