Towing a gooseneck on a 1500
I have a 1997 ram 1500 with a 5.9 magnum in it, if i did a gooseneck hitch receiver on it, would i be able to pull a 4 Horst trailer or even a trailer with a car on it and not blow up my rebuilt transmission? I don’t haul *** in it and the truck makes about 300 horsepower. The truck has a leveling kit and i have 33 inch mud terrains on it.
I also want to know if my gears shifting later than before is a towing thing when i pull my trailers or if its something im just in my head about.

A gooseneck hitch is typically installed in the bed of the truck. A receiver hitch is bolted to the frame and sits under the rear bumper of the truck. You can tow with either of these options but you must disable overdrive, otherwise you will burn up the transmission. I believe the owner's manual tells you about this when towing.
