Default My1998 1500 5.9l 4x4 46 re torque converter is locked in no code

No matter the gear it is engaged all the time and has no code. Unplugged th od and was still engaged. I had seen a thread somewhere on it but it didn't save to my browser. Was sent the Tcc but was sure it was a solenoid and explained it as such to the warranty guy from Moverris. Can anyone give me direction I'm a bit lost at the moment.

Was the transmission rebuilt recently or was the torque converter recently replaced?

it was is a monster heavy duty custom build. Literally primed the cooler and lines and ran to running temp and cycled gears to nutral and checked fluid was good till anout 2nd top off when it went to reverse it died so i checked fluid again after starting and it was good. But every gear but neutral and park are locked like a popped clutch. Hasn't moved over 4 feet since I put it in. Someone said a solenoid on the tcc system that had a broken spring wich is why it dont have a code thr mechanical is telling the electrical to engage because of damage. My luck they are bolth wrong. They sent me 2 tcc harnesses but with no code I don't know what else it could be. Also disconnected the 3-4-5 solenoid and was still engaged. Fixing to get an exorcist on the dam thing.

A locked converter would mean it would move if the engine is running. Does it stall/move when you put it in gear? Or not moving at all? Did you check park rod to see if it's adjusted correctly?

you can feel it engaiingaging every gear it is too big a load when it engages and kills the engin. I can only go backwards out my garage and thr incline winter allow me to build the rpm up to take off, atleast I'm worried I'll damage something in the attempt and started asking questions. I still can't find the post I had seen discussing this very thing.

Is this a self-done rebuild or is there a builder that did the rebuild that you can talk to about these issues?

ironically its monster transmission and out of 2 trannys I've spoke to 1 mechanic for 5 min. The rest has been some place called movarris and those guys are slow as ****. It was a week and a half to get 2 harnesses sent to me. At this point I just need to figure it out and get it on the road. This started like a week and a half before chrismas and thr one mechanic I spoke to lied to me about 2 things for certain and another that can't be proven yet but it will come out in the wash. This company has been a ****show from the sale on.

If your truck didn't have that problem before the trans swap, then it is a trans problem, and should be covered by their warranty. Keep in mind, last I checked (though, it has been a while...) monster has a HORRIBLE reputation...... You could try swapping out the solenoids, but, before turning a single bolt, I would verify with them that it won't void your warranty.

Did you install it yourself? Or did you have a shop install it? Given your post, I am suspecting you installed it yourself, and that in and of itself my preclude having any warranty on the trans....

Try pulling the trans relay, This will kill any power to the solenoids. If that works then you know it's not the trans.

it didn't void it thankfully but this is the 2nd my first one the front pump went out and it burned up in about 9 months. I sent it back and was supposed to get a core out rebuild per the mechanic I spoke to. Get the rebuild back and changed the tcc and the accumulator spring is good. Disconnected the overdrive solenoid and was still locked. It is a custom heavy with stall set at around 2400. This is ridiculous they said they dont do refunds.... 2 **** trannies the first I don't think was completely upgraded right and another that hasn't went more than 6 feet. How the hell are they still in business?
