Plus i've been working on the motor for my 80s Ram 50, they're a bit more my speed with how much more simple they are lol. I would appreciate links/guides on how to test stuff because as I said i'm about useless when it comes to diagnosing electronics.
As stated in a prior post, be sure to download the service manual for your year truck. It outlines lots of troubleshooting by category and provides the necessary steps. If you're a visual person, YouTube has plenty of videos that show you how to troubleshoot issues as well.

Buddy i'm on a tech forum asking for direct help from the kind people who have experienced or worked with a similar issue, If I wanted to scroll through a 2,000 page PDF I wouldn't be here.

Many folks don't know the factory service manuals are available here for download. The factory service manual is divided into chapters and provides all of the electrical diagrams as well, so you won't have to scroll through 2,000 pages. Good luck with your repair.

So the tech tested the ignition. What was his conclusion? Are you getting spark? Fuel? Does the pump prime when you first turn the key on?

ASD relay? If I recall correctly, the ASD controls the ground for the fuel pump and ignition. It's in the Power Distribution Center under the hood, and you should be able to swap another relay in it's place from something else.

Even the best mechanic needs to refer to the service manual, No one can memorize all the info they can provide. I doubt anybody here is going to write a novel to try to explain how everything works when this info can be found in the service manual. You are getting 55 code so i would assume the pcm to be working. Next you need to see if you have spark, Pull the coil wire off the distributor and place it close to a engine ground(1/4 from ground to electrode). Crank the motor over and see if you are getting a spark. If you have spark then test for fuel pressure.

ASD relay? If I recall correctly, the ASD controls the ground for the fuel pump and ignition.
Asd supplies 12V positive to the coil, injectors and 02 sensors. Need the op to report back and see if he has spark. If so the asd is working.

No fuel pressure, No spark still. Swapped relays, unfortunately nothing new.
Apologies if my response about not wanting to read a 2,000 page PDF had attitude, I have been referring to it here and there.

Yes, your post about the service manual exuded attitude. I believe all of the folks that reply to issues on this forum reference the service manuals quite regularly.

Apology accepted.

Are you sure that your truck's battery is fully charged and in good condition (will support a 12 volt load test at the very least)?

Have a scanner? Will it talk to the PCM??? Get a volt meter, or test light? Verify you are getting 12 volts to pin 30 of the ASD relay, also see if you are getting 12 volts on the control side of the circuit. (pin 85??? I think??? should have power with ignition on.)

I have a paper copy of the service manual, Page 8W-11-3 has the pdc and pin outs on the following pages(also tells you what page the diagram is on). pin 30 is fused power, 86 is also fused ignition switch output. pin 85 is the control negative from the pcm. Check all the fuses associated with the asd and ignition circuits before testing.
