What's the best option for trouble-free replacement steering box for 2nd gen trucks?

How about retrofitting steering box from later model Dodge? Probably going to need an adapter or something to bolt to the frame.

Found a thread where they talked about GM boxes around 2007-2013 that might fit: https://irate4x4.com/threads/2nd-gen...s-2022.391746/

Also found this, Delphi 680 box: https://www.genosgarage.com/product/...2/steering-box

I'm trying to find a bolt-on swap, if at all possible. The Borgeson bolt-on replacement steering box is bad enough, as it sets out further on the frame. Also, looking for a box that can work on 2WD or 4WD 2nd gen trucks, if possible.

So far the Cancraft unit still feels really good on the '99 where I installed it. This is who I plan to use again if the need arises ‐- and, ironically, it might TODAY as I have to diagnose a '98 with steering problems and I know the box was previously leaking pretty good.

I won't even bother with the reman O'Reilly units anymore -- complete waste of time
