If you didn't touch the distributor, then the only way the timing could change, is if the chain slipped.....

I just don’t know how that could have happened, it’s a brand new chain and gear set. Besides cylinder #8 chewing on a bolt it ran totally fine prior to me taking it apart.

I assume you removed the head to do the piston work. Did you get all the push rods/rockers in correctly? Triple check the firing order. Are the plugs good, not fouled?

looking at that diagram, i think i may have connected my plug wires to my dizzy not in the firing order but 1-2-3-4 etc must have been tired haha, i need to go verify but im quite positive. thank you

Yep, standard V-8 firing order. 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2.
