Default What upgraded steering fits a 98?

I have a 1998 1500 4X4. I am wanting to know what aftermarket steering upgrade (tie rod assembly) is a direct bolt on for a 98.

I have seen posts about 99-01, but not sure which one will bolt on a 98 without taper or other issues. Don't know what changed from 98 to the 99-01's I have a 2.5inch level if that matters.

Looking back on my phone screenshots I saved a pic of the Mevotech MS25656 T-style tie rod assembly, but not sure if that will fit directly. All of the info I see on it was for 2001 bolt on.

I am looking for the Mevotech price range (2-3 hundred). Anyone who has a 98 and can confirm what will bolt on please let me know. I had saved a post from someone with a 98 who did the upgrade but have since lost the info.

The "heavy duty" steering was an option on the 2500/3500 trucks. I suspect that modifications would be required for it to fit the 1500 though. However.... The T style steering has it's own issues. The drag link attaches to the tie rod.... it isn't a true 'crossover' steering. The problem there is, when the parts wear in a bit, steering develops a dead spot, where turning the wheel does nothing for a few inches, as the tie rod, instead of side to side movement, rolls instead.... There are workarounds for that... but, I have had trucks with the 'heavy duty' steering, and the inverted Y, and steering with the inverted Y is actually better..... Bear in mind, that the Y steering has it's own issues as well, you get a bit more bump-steer with it, but, if everything is tight, there is no dead spot in the steering....

There are likely kits out there in the world for TRUE crossover steering, but, they ain't gonna be cheap, and WILL require modifications to the hubs.
