Truck won't accelerate smoothly, revs high and shifts hard

It shouldn't shift automatic at all with the electronics disabled..... Somethin' ain't quite right there.

It *should* go into the gear you tell it to, when you tell it to. If you put it in drive, it should start out in 3rd gear..... so, really gotta lean into it to get it to move.

Can you post a pic of the connector you are pulling?

Yeah, that's the right one.... and you still have automatic function???? That's just weird. So, question becomes, does it shift properly??? Or, if you shift manually, does it do what you tell it to? Shift when you tell it to?
