Are you getting spark AT the coil?

Pull the coil wire from the distributor, put a spark plug in it, ground it where you can see it, crank the engine. Do you see spark?

Ok I'll check that later today. I also saw the similar thread the forum linked and someone changed their pickup plate in the distributor and everything ran fine after thay so maybe I'll try that as well

On the magnum engines, the sensor in the distributor has nothing to do with spark..... It's all about injector timing, and it is only used at startup.
