Default 99 1500 5.9 Magnum - Crank/no start

Ok, long story short, rats got into my truck, and have had their fun on my wiring. I fixed the wiring to the affected injectors, the TPS and the MAP sensor. Here’s what I’ve got now:

the engine cranks well, but does not start. The tach stays at 0 when cranking over.

The wiring to the CPS wiring seems ok, but it’s difficult to check it all. They also ate the wires to the oil pressure sending unit, all the way to the plug, but that’s not going to keep it from starting. I also noticed that the wires to the pigtail on the distributor have been chewed up. Any ideas?

thanks!

The wires at the distributor are important as they connect what is basically the cam position sensor. However not having a "tach bounce" is bad as well. Do you have a code reader/scan tool at hand to check the PCM ?

yeah. I’ll check into it in the morning. Thanks for the response. I appreciate it.

ok. Just a P0108, and an open injector. Those are stored, and I’ve already corrected those issues.

Never hurts to clear the PCM of old fault codes that have been addressed. You can do it with the scanner or disconnect the battery cables, wait 5 minutes and re-connect them.

yep. I did all that. They’re cleared now. The lack of tach bounce leads me to believe it’s an issue with the Crank position Sensor, Cam Position Sensor or that pigtail coming out of the distributor. Those wires aren’t cut completely through, but they may be shorted against each other.

If the PCM doesn't get an initial signal from the came sensor, it won't know which injector to fire, so, it won't fire any of them.....

Does the engine fire if you pour a little gas down the throttle body?

When I had a mouse issue they didn't spare the ignition coil plug in either, lower front passenger side
