Default PS pump replacement

I just noticed a lot of oil around the PS pump.
At over 226k I guess it’s time to change it.

I take it I’m better off with a “new” unit rather than a “reman”?
Anything in particular I should avoid or recommendations on units you’ve had good experiences with.

Last time I went for a power steering pump, I tried three different pumps, from three different brands my local parts store carried, two of them howled worse than the pump I was replacing, the third one wouldn't even build any pressure..... The fourth pump, and actual Delco unit, (new) worked, but, even it was louder than I would have liked......

Oh, great… another crapshoot on getting a half decent part.
The beauty of owning an older vehicle.

I think I need to dig a little deeper on the actual problem.
The pump is quiet and works great… maybe I can get away with a front seal change.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news..... (I'll keep one foot in the stirrup.....) But.... maybe it's just me, but, I have had ZERO success trying to reseal a p/s pump. Maybe I just suck at it, and you will have better luck.

A lot of times there is a large o ring that seals the reservoir to the pump that leaks. Either that or the shaft seal.

Yeah, HeyYou says it's harder than you'd think. I've never personally tried it so I can't argue either way.

Eric the Car Guy has a great vid of tearing into a Sag pump. It was on a GMT400 but that matters not. I'd reco watching it.
