I've dropped it out of OD while driving in to drive but seams to make no change, have not tried 2nd as I'm usually moving around 50ish, not sure how the trans would like that gear change to 2nd. kind of a chicken to try.
As for misfires, I changed out all plugs and wires (NKG iridium and NKG wires) just in case of that, but it could also be the dist-cap too I suppose.
Could the output speed sensor on cause the hunting issue? or possibly these misfires make it shift down and ack all odd?

Mopar sensors are preferred. These trucks don't always play nice with the aftermarket fellers.

Iridium plugs may be part of your problem. These trucks really don't care for the rare-earth plugs, you get mystery misfires and such. Standard copper plugs are preferred.

Well that's kind of annoying. try and get some nice plugs for my truck and it hates me for doing it Ok. Like to note that the bucking started before I did the plugs and wires. but I'll re invest in coppers just to be safe.
Is there by chance a second best aside from MOPAR sensors, or just don't risk it?

I have a 1993 Dodge Caravan .... I have been using NTK sensors from rockauto. No complaints so far ..... I was chasing a problem recently and suspected my NTK crank sensor, I replaced it and it was fine and not the issue .... now I have a spare.

Dealer is just not a option for me, I live too far away from the nearest dealer to consider them. I have 3 vehicles and the 1993 is the newest of them .... dealers just do not carry parts for people like me.

the closest doge dealer is about 45 minutes away, but they wanted $120 if I remember properly. Made from the finest Unicorn horns from the isles of Tartara. LOL. anyways. I'll look at NTK also.

Thats just it, 1 hour drive on the interstate to get to the exit, then another 20 minute to get into town to the dealer .... turns into a all day ordeal and a bunch of gas ..... for $6 can just get the part delivered to my door.

I also have a 1991 Chebby silverado and a 1949 Dodge truck .... dealers really do not have parts for me.

I also have a 86 supra and I run into some of the same issues, mostly with body parts though.

Yeah looks like OEM crankshaft sensor is ~$130 if part # 56027870AB.

I'd probably run an NTK or SMP

But not saying this will fix the problem.

Crankshaft Position 1997-2003 Mopar 56027870
Crank Timing 1994-1996 Mopar 56027272
Both discontinued! I have a Delphi that's been in mine for the last 10 years and still going(daily driver). If you have a timing light you can hook it up to the coil wire and see if the crank sensor is dropping out. You will get no spark then it will start working again. High end scanner will show the inputs, If the crank sensor drops out you will see it on the scope. The plenum gasket leak can cause the pcm to get confused and it will fire the coil when it's not supposed to causing the bucking. Can't say this is your problem but keep the trans in one gear(not od) and put a load on the engine(accelerate). Under a load it will usually happen. You may what to open up the throttle blades and look down at the bottom. If you see oil you have a leak. Plenty of info on plenum gasket here.

I'm looking at crank sensor (delphi) and copper plugs to start off the parts list, its with O'rellis so if it gives me trouble... give it back I guess, I have iridium plugs as well and they seem like a no no for these trucks. Plenum check will be done ASAP I'll also check to see if it's the steal or aluminum plate, alongside check for vacuum in the valve covers.
this issue usually pops up on the freeway drive home, about halfway and the SPD is 55 so running in 2nd is bit difficult as there is one road home and more crazy drivers then a Nascar kegger (no offence to Nascar). but I'll see what I can do to replicate the timing and driving in 2nd to see if I can propagate the issue in other gears/lower speeds.

@Sir_RAMseyII I want to apologize for even mentioning a crank sensor .... was just meant to be a example of what I'm replacing my sensors with .... NTK.
Reading about your issue, I do not think a crank sensor is your problem .... it would have different symptoms I think.

I did mention crank sensor for a option of what I run for sensors .... thats all I meant .... I doubt your issue is a crank sensor.

I just want to be clear on this. .... I'm a idiot and thought my issue might be a crank sensor .... but the NTK sensor installed was good.
I'm only saying NTK has worked for me.
