5.2L Top end noise and misfire
1997 Ram 1500 5.2l 4x4
Truck has always had that top end rattle noise that most have at higher rpms that goes away after it shifts, or rpms drop.
Yesterday was driving the truck and it started bucking/ missing and the noise has become louder and more frequent and sounds to be coming from the driver's side rear of the engine.
going to pull the valve cover today and inspect, my thought is maybe a collapsed/stuck lifter, loose or damaged rocker arm or stud, or a dropped valve maybe 🤔
Anyone dealt with something like this that might know what else this could be? Don't believe it's an exhaust leak because of the way it has changed how it's running. It's a very noticeable difference
Thanks in advance

Hopefully it's not what my truck did. I had a rattle tapping when I got the truck. On a trip to get another vehicle, coming back it began to misfire. My oil consumption went from a quart every 600-700 miles to one every 75 miles. My plenum blew out and fouled a couple of plugs. When I pulled the intake, I found a flattened beer can laying under the intake.
Pulled valve cover off and found a bent push rod on the second rocker from the back. Going to pull the intake and check out all the lifters and replace if needed. Going to address the plenum as well while it's tore apart.
