Default Catalytic converter delete

Request any information on deleting the Cat/Con on my 1998 Ram 1500 5.2. I live in Florida which does not require emission testing. It has 184k miles. Oxygen sensors are on exhaust manifolds.. Runs great. Daily driver.
Has anyone done this?

Use a plug saver on the downstream O2 sensor.
New had any issues.

Appreciate your response. Yet, did you mean never and not new?

I have done this just a few days ago ... no official report if it is a good or bad idea.

I was able to just remove my cat and then using a pipe and hammer just remove the guts probably should wear a mask for that. Then I installed the cat back on and is just a empty metal shell but no leaks.

I have a 1991 chebby truck also, it had the cat removed and they replaced it with a piece of pipe and it leaked and was loud .... I took it to a shop and had them weld in a pipe so no more leaks. ..... That was over 8 years ago.

Not saying is good or bad, just that it is a common practice.

FWIW, I have a 1993 Caravan with a 3.3 V6 and the car has 188K miles on it ... my exhaust was plugged and that is why I gutted my cat .... It still was plugged after that.
Then I removed the resonator and the exhaust is no longer plugged.
I would have bet $$ it was the crap from the cat went into the muffler and clogged the muffler. .... I had to remove the resonator anyways to get to the muffler .... I was surprised it was the resonator causing the issue.

A quick google search shows it is not as common as a cat but it does happen .... something to think about.
