Typically, that sounds like a broken crank sensor. Many times, the crank sensor gets damaged if it's left on the engine block or is hanging dangling on it's wiring harness during a transmission removal/installation...

For the 'no bus' issue, you can check the fuse that controls the power to the OBD2 port or check some of the many YouTube videos that discuss solutions for the 'no bus' issue.

So, just to clarify, it was running and driving but no OD?

Then you unplugged the transmission connector, plugged it back in, and now you have a no start condition combined with NO BUS?

Hmm, very odd. I feel like the truck should run even if the trans plug were disconnected...? @DerTruck any wisdom here?

Unplugging the trans should have zero effect on the engine...... I suspect that is just a coincidence, and not cause and effect.

See what you are missing. Do you have spark? Do you have fuel pressure? Getting injector pulse?

I don’t know how to check for injector pulse but there isn’t spark, it’s getting fuel because you can smell it after cranking for a minute

I would be havin' a look at the crank sensor.
