No bus
My 99 ram 4x4 Cranks but no fire someone help please. I rebuilt the transmission put it in truck drove great but wouldn’t shift into overdrive so I unplugged to the transmission eight pin. The truck died and hasn’t started since my odometer says no bus. I’m pulling my hair out please someone help.
Typically, that sounds like a broken crank sensor. Many times, the crank sensor gets damaged if it's left on the engine block or is hanging dangling on it's wiring harness during a transmission removal/installation...
For the 'no bus' issue, you can check the fuse that controls the power to the OBD2 port or check some of the many YouTube videos that discuss solutions for the 'no bus' issue.

So, just to clarify, it was running and driving but no OD?
Then you unplugged the transmission connector, plugged it back in, and now you have a no start condition combined with NO BUS?

Yes after installing the tranny it drive good but wouldn’t shift into overdrive but it ran and drove in trying to figure out the overdrive I unplugged the transmission 8 pin, it died and hasn’t started since also says no bud but it didn’t show no bus before.

Unplugging the trans should have zero effect on the engine...... I suspect that is just a coincidence, and not cause and effect.
See what you are missing. Do you have spark? Do you have fuel pressure? Getting injector pulse?
