P0505 code will not stay off
How’s it going dodge fans new to this bt here we go I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.9l magnum great truck I replaced the iac valve 2 times cleaned throttle body check engine light comes back on I check for vacuum leaks bt none on top didn’t see no smoke at the bottom when I did smoke test wires are good I did the diod light kit from AutoZone plug works properly now I’m over I don’t wanna swap the pcm. Out bt I will if I have to as well I have loose vacuum line on the transfer case could that cause the code coming back in ?
it a diod which u also check your fuel injectors with to make sure there working properly
could vacuum line on transfer case cause it? I bought the truck from a tweaker so all my vacuum line are unhooked
No. The code is whining about changing IAC position does not effect idle speed. There are two circuits for the IAC, both need to work for proper operation. If either one fails, PCM loses control of idle speed. Usually, that code indicates a failed circuit in the PCM.....
oooooh I see okay really didn’t wanna do the pcm would the pick n pull pcm be exceptional to use ? Just saying because if come from a wrecking yard

Junk yard PCM should work, needs to be same year/engine/trans. Number of drive wheels doesn't matter, PCM doesn't care. You will need to have it flashed to your VIN though, else ABS and Airbag systems won't be happy. I would be tempted to talk to your local parts stores though, and see what they can come up with. Should be able to get on already programmed to your VIN.... and if there is a problem, (which there all to frequently is.....) you can talk to a real person, face to face...... Unfortunately, NONE of the online retailers for 'reman' pcm's are worth spit. You end up getting one that is worse off than your original.... if it works at all.... and then mail swapping them several times before you MIGHT get one that actually works.... IF you ever get a working one at all.... In the end, having to pay someone to flash the junkyard PCM, end cost will likely come out pretty close to what you pay for an already programmed one at the parts store.
