Question Do I need a new torque converter? 2000 1500

Hi all, this is my first post here and hopefully someone that knows more than me can offer some advice before I have to take it to a shop. I'll give a little history on what I've done to the truck and what issues I'm having.

Recently purchased a 2000 Dodge ram 1500 from a friend that needed a motor. Was able to find a fair deal on eBay for a 5.9 and purchased it and installed it last month. I'm having a couple driving issues that the seller of the truck said weren't there when he parked it (almost 2 years ago now). I should mention the transmission was replaced in 2008 and has about 70k miles on it.

First is the reverse. The transmission shifts into reverse and it tries to back up but it can't as something is stalling out the motor every time I shift to reverse.
Also when driving forward half the time I stop at a stop sign or slow down around a sharp corner the motor shuts off as I stop and sometimes dies when I put it in drive before I get a chance to start driving. Yesterday I put started the truck up and put it right in neutral to check the transmission fluid and it stalled off. Started it back up and was able to shift right into neutral without a problem.

I did a little research online and replaced the IAC as well as the transmission pressure sensor, shift solenoid and filter but none of that helped the issue.
I've been thinking maybe it's the torque converter but I've also been told that if it was that, it would do the same thing in forward and reverse.

I hope it's not the torque converter as I passed up a prime opportunity to replace it as I had it in my hands last month but I would like to get to the bottom of the problem so I can get this truck on the road.

Attached below are 2 videos of the truck's issues.
In the first video you can hear that it immediately tries to die when I put it in reverse. In the second clip you can see it didn't even try and quit in reverse right away.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Did you remove the crank position sensor when you pulled/installed the motor? If not, they are frequently victims of that operation.... and give some truly bizarre symptoms.

As for the IAC, if that was just some generic aftermarket part, replace it again, with a real mopar part..... These trucks REALLY dislike aftermarket sensors/etc in key positions. (crank sensor also being right at the TOP of that list....)

Also, did it originally have a 5.9 in it??

I did remove the crank sensor because I accidently cracked it while putting the engine in so I replaced it with the crank position sensor that was on the blown motor that came in the truck when I bought it.
The IAC came from O'rielly Auto. This is it

And yes it was originally a 5.9.

Do you have a scanner that can read live data??? Might be interesting to see what the various sensors are reporting....

I have a program called HP tuners on a laptop that is able to read live data. I recorded a trip around the neighborhood in which it shut off a couple times at various stop signs and such. If I figure out how to upload that data here would that be useful?

I don't think there is any way to share the exported data from the program. I think you need the program to view them and this website isn't allowing me to upload a file in that strange format anyway... I do have recorded data of it shutting off as I slow down at a stop sign but it doesn't show much other than that the engine RPMs stop.
I'll try to share a video of the computer playing back the part where it quits.
And yes the short and long term fuel trims aren't reading correctly. The oxygen sensors are not plugged in and that's another issue for another time after I get this figured out. I just didn't want the strange readings to throw anyone off.

Seems to me like that woild be lock-up not the tc itself. Since its not happening exactly the same in forward and reverse maybe check that the wiring didnt get pinched or cooked.
