Hello everyone. My 12v Cummins has had a sticky key since I’ve gotten it. To remove the key you have to put all your force pulling it into park with shifter while turning the key back and removing it. I replaced the ignition, and adjusted the shifter. Now it’s even worse. Can’t remove the key. And if I can I have to hammer the key back in with my fist to start truck. Gonna put old ignition back in so it’s manageable but dang. What’s the real issue? When I get key in and turn the truck pops out of park a little, it makes a pop and shifter moves down a bit. Like ever so slightly, but can tell it’s hanging up.

 

Still need to adjust the shift linkage. Might wanna look at the bushings in the linkage as well, they wear over time, making adjustment difficult, at best.

 

yeah your right. Find it odd that ever since I got the truck, I can’t manually put shifter down to first or second gear . It only goes down to drive .
