I am not sure but I think the turbo is making a vibration/noise at starting out accelerating. Once through the gears (automatic) i don't feel or hear this. As I hit around 20 mph decelerating I hear this noise and feel this vibration. Is it the Turbo? The truck run fine otherwise. What is this likely to be?

Could be any number of things, the turbo among them, but, without being able to hear/feel it ourselves, is gonna be just a random guess. Could be anything from a bad spot on a tire, to bad U-Joints.

To me you're very unlikely to feel turbo vibration in the drivers seat, especially on a stock turbo. Would also lean towards a driveline or tire balance issue.

You can remove the intake and inspect the turbo, side to side movement is acceptable if it snot touching the housing, lateral in out movement should be near zero depending how many miles are actually on the turbo. As far as hearing a noise, Id be more curious about trans or torque converter, once lockup is applied at around 40-45mph? The converter is no longer in converter mode and the noise would go away

Ok thanks for your responses..I'm overseas and not confident that a mechanic can identify a problem with an old Dodge Ram.. I will take it to a couple of South African mechanics that setup a shop to get a better idea with your pointers to suggest to them.
