Because of 2 reasons (1) I hate airbags, insurance3 companies love to force you to let them total your vehicles for a simple airbag (2) I prefer to die like somebody from the 70's

Get liability and you may get a discount because of it.

I can somewhat understand your logic, however, you do not have to allow the insurance company to total your vehicle due to an airbag deployment. You have the option keep the vehicle and get it repaired, especially since that vintage vehicle has one airbag in the steering wheel. Lastly, do you really want to die if the airbag might save you from death?

I think if you gut the yellow wire with the batteries hooked up, that will get rid of it.

I don't think cutting airbag wires while there is still power is a good idea. Be in the wrong position, and if the airbag goes off, yer dead. (I have SEEN this happen......) Theoretically, you can disconnect the battery, wait ten minutes, then you can SAFELY disconnect the DERM, (airbag control module) That will disable the system, and *should* leave the lites off.

I'd just as soon remove the entire battery and wait a day, then unplug it , I don't cut wires unless I'm replacing them, bad things happen one modern vehicles when you cut wires LOL,
I cant delete it without the light being on constantly, I'm not good enough with electrical lights to remove that, besides what would that do to the computer? IF radio shack was still around I could get a resister and wire it in and solve the whole problem

Unplugging the derm *should* leave the lights off.... I think. Easy experiment though. Give it a shot, see what happens. The derm is under the little SRS cover on the tunnel, right under the center of the dash. Leaving the battery disconnected for 15 minutes should be more than adequate to the task, but, I tend to agree with ya, better safe than sorry.
