Sounds like it's not going into overdrive. How do you know it's running hotter than normal? Do you have a temp gauge installed? Any codes?

I would agree with this assessment. You aren't getting overdrive. Need to find out why.

I have glow shift gauges for trans and oil pressure on the pillar and when I push the overdrive on off button it shifts and rpm’s go higher so I know I have overdrive

Erm, no. I don't think you do. Your RPMs are WAY to high to be in O/D. What you may be seeing is TCC dropping out....

Keep the OD OFF until you get to above 45(say 50) keep that speed and hit the od button. What does the rpm's do? Also what temp is the trans reading?

it shifts from first second third then I pushed the od button on the dash and shifted into 4th. The rpms in 3rd with the od off was around 3k and at 50 then with the od button on it dropped to 2k at 55 and trans temp was getting around 190-200. But I had also been driving it for about 20 mins prior to get that hot but usually it’s around 160 during the day and at night time it’s around 145

3.92's and essentially 35" tires..... That's probably why it's getting hot.....

But, that does NOT explain the high RPM readings..... I still don't think you are actually getting Overdrive...... either that, or the trans is slipping badly....
