Issue with my truck shutting it self off

Default Issue with my truck shutting it self off

I have a 2001 ram 2500 with the 5.9 gas and it keep shutting off on me while driving but when it I can sit there for 5 mins if fires right back up and I can a lil bit and it dose it again. I’ve changed the fuel pump and the wire harness and I’ve change the ignition coil. So dose anyone have any idea wat can be going on??? Thank you

Sounds like a bad crank sensor. Do you have any codes?

That is not a good sign, do you get a connection when the engine is actually running?

On my 5.2 there is a ground wire that runs up on the driver side, right in front of the valve cover toward the front of your vehicle. It uses a ring connector over the bolt and the nut tightens it up. Mine is in a wire wrap so it's kind of hiding. I think your 5.9 might have this as well. See if that is loose or broken. I attached a picture. The bolt should be right here.

yes me and my brother in law tried it 2 or three times and still kept saying the Samething

sorry didn’t mean to confuse you but no when I plug up the code reader it no connection with the truck running

Ok, so that's just a problem with either your scan tool, or the port... Does the scan tool power up when you plug it in, with ignition on?
