Unhappy Transmission line removal

The other line had a clip, it was easy.
How do I remove this one? Looks like a flared fitting, the whole line is turning.

That one is easy, too. Use a appropriately sized wrench or a pair of small locking pliers to the keep the fitting in the transmission from moving/spinning and use a second wrench on the larger nut in front of the transmission fitting. This style of fitting has been used on Chrysler transmissions darn near forever.

Here is another question. I am removing this transmission myself for the 1st time.
Do I need to lower the exhaust pipes or remove the exhaust pipes for the transmission to clear it?

If the pipe is under the unit, yes. Most of the time no. You will have to remove the transmission support at the back. One caveat though, if you are doing other worka nd putting the same transmission back in, be sure to replace the front seal on the transmission. If it leaks later, it's several hours aggravation for a $25-30 part.

Take the torque converter out WITH the trans, so, four bolts on the flexplate.... Starter needs to come out for that, but, it needs to come out anyway.

I assume that you're trying to remove the transmission from the truck, correct? First off, is the truck 2WD or 4WD and does the truck still have the stock single exhaust coming from the single muffler? If the truck still has the stock single exhaust system on it, you should be able to disconnect the pipes from the exhaust manifold and move the pipes off to the side to remove the transmission. If the truck has a custom dual exhaust under it, you will most likely have to remove the exhaust system.

Its a 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd, but the engine was switched out for a 5.9, and the transmission has been replace. I got it out without dropping or lowering the exhaust line.
Looks like it has a flex plate with a weight, and a 787 torque converter.
Thanks for everyone's help.
