Default Need some help with passenger door lock?

I realized the other day that my passenger door lock does not work. I thought it may be disconnected, pulled it apart today. And it’s not disconnected, I felt the mechanism and I can feel movement.

Is the lock mechanism need replacing? Looking for a little advise.

Bob

Does not work with a key? With the switch to remote unlock? Unlock with the handle? Unlock by the lock lever?

Forgot that part.

Door will not unlock with either door switch.

Do you hear the motor run? So far as I know, just the lock part isn't available on its own, gotta get the whole latch. LMC truck sells them though, I think.

I went through that issue as well. I ended up replacing the passenger side power door latch with another unit from a salvage yard several years ago. Still working many years later.

First, when you push the button, do you hear anything "trying" to engage the lock?... If no, (you said the hard ware has good movement, assuming that was a manual test), I'd try unplugging the switch on your passenger door and cleaning it with real "light" sandpaper on the connections and then scadoosh the switch with some quick dry electrical spray cleaner, (Poke the funnel straw in the holes to go where ya can't see. Then plug it back in. If that doesn't work, you need to test your fuse then electrical. If you feel the movement "when you press the button" it's hung up somewhere. You can also take the switch off the door that does work and plug it into your passenger door. Does it work?... Then you'll know you need a switch or... the light sandpaper and scadoosh thing. Happy Hunting That's what I got for ya. Good luck.
