Separate section of the module. So, if the pump runs while cranking, the PCM IS getting crank sensor signal. That's a GOOD thing. Should be able to pick up the 'pickup coil'/cam sensor at your local parts store pretty cheap.

How old is the gas in the tank? If that stuff is 10 years old, it ain't gas anymore.

gas in the tank is probably around 4-5 years old now, there wasn’t more than 3-4 gallons in it when it was originally parked

Might be able to get away with just adding 10 gallons or so of premium...... though, I would be tempted to drain what's in there, and replace with fresh.
