crank position sensor legit?
Crank position sensor 2000 Ram 2500 5.9 v8. OEM 56027870 Crankshaft Angle Position Sensor for Dodge Dakota Durango Ram 1500. Is this part real? There is a superseded part number.
I have been burned before on fleabay parts

Looks like the same sensor to me...... Updated part number though, yeah.... Just what is 'different' about the new number becomes the question. Real possibility that the answer is 'nothing'....
This thing is $20, and from the dealer it is six to ten times as much. The box stores sell it for 60. Nothing makes sense anymore.
I'm tempted to get a second. Thanks for getting back.

For 20 bucks? I would expect that to be a counterfeit..... Generic part in Mopar labeled bag.....
Let's see:
Part number long superseded
Japanese recycling logo on the bag
Mopar parts labels have the "Made in" above the barcode
5 years warranty !
My money is on counterfeit. For a little more money you can get a crank position sensor from e.g. Rockauto (not Dorman or BWD-Broken When Delivered though) and it has a better chance of working.

Benz owned Chrysler till 2012 so German manufacture of parts is a possibility. My brakes in the truck say bosch.

These are discontinued so the remaining ones out there will be sold. If it comes from ebay I suspect it to be fake. Ebay really needs to change they way they run things. They don't care where the products are coming from or if they are fakes as long as they get your money. Ebay is about the last place I look for parts that I can get elsewhere.

Ended up going to Federated, got their house brand which I have had good luck with. A friend with tiny hands had to help this ham fisted individual. I could not get in there. Now to solve fuel trim mysteries.
I was working on a friend mustang. It had the six cylinder, with the plastic cam gear, which had failed..... I pulled the front cover, but, didn't want to drop the pan to get all the gear parts out.... So, drained the oil, and bribed our teenaged babysitter to reach in there, and pull everything out..... When she saw what I wanted, she looked at me like I just grew another head.... when I waved money at her, she reached right in, and cleaned it right out. Then washed her hands for 20 minutes.
