9.25 locker
So I have a 1997 2nd gen 4x4 (9.25). Has anyone done a powertrax locker? any video on the install? It seems pretty straight forward, done detroit lockers before, but its always good to ask your opinions.. Cheers
Should be a simple install as well, with just basic hand tools. Assuming, of course, that you don't already have an LSD in there.
The main complaints I hear about them is tire chirps on low-speed tight turns, and noise when they engage/disengage.... Aside from that, 2 year 100K warranty...... and folks like what they do... just not necessarily how they do it.

Still have to put mine in. When you order, they make a 9.25 PowerTrax for a limited slip and open carrier. I've had a couple of them in various 4x4's. I wouldn't go past 35's with them and they do chirp around corners. When I go around corners my stock limited slip will chirp the tires some times. Corners that I'm talking about is like when you're at a stop sign and turning the 90 degree corner. Read the instructions and ensure the meshing gears are lined up. I broke the tab off one, it was either buy a new locker or order the part. I ordered the part.

Don't really want a locker up front.... Unless mud is your thing...... Tends to make handling kinda exciting.....
I live in the mountains, so snow, mud and sand.. trucks not my daily driver.
I would be more tempted to go with something like a thorsen style limited slip. Doesn't physically lock them together, but, limits speed difference between axles..... (probably not explaining that right.....)
