Why long term fuel trim indicates a rich mixture.
The grommet and regulator are offered separately , or paired. $61 plus freight for a Standard unit, at closeout. For $103 I get the whole shooting match of pump sender, regulator, new sock. Delphi. closeout.
$40 is like 15min of dealer labor. I have learned when it's inaccessible, as most stuff is today, buy once, cry once. I could see the plastic pump housing possibly acting like a Dodge dashboard. Or an old pump taking a dump.
Thanks for the input, stay well all. Last question. What is the point or use of the nipple standing up? Oct 21, 5.07. That has a black piece of hose halfway blocking it off? Two different pump assemblies are offered, one has it, one doesn't

Got it all back together and I believe I have knowledge to pass on.
1. Fuel pressure should read between 45 and 50 psi.
2. If your fuel pressure does not stay up (mine stayed at 45psi with the engine off for 15 min) you may have a regulator with a failing check valve or internals. The old unit went to zero immediately. No fuel pressure was why mine always took two key turns.
3. When removing the pump mark the location of the pressure nipple. It's a witch to loosen the clamping ring and rotate the pump. Put the nipple as close to the channel as possible. Not a lot of slack there.
4. Two ratchet straps are handy for raising the tank. Check the metal tank straps while there to save a second adventure.
5. Get a set of dorman 800-017 clips in case one is c**p. Why they don't give you new clips with a pump is a mystery. If in doubt new hose clamps.
6.Make sure the gas from the container you have is good.
7. Do not lose the cap for the fuel pressure rail.
I will find out if this the changes the fuel trims. Stay well.

Got the st and lt fuel trims about as good as they are going to get.plus five to minus five as outliers, and plus two to minus three the rest of the time, Exceptions when braking and accelerating. We will see what MPG changes occur.
Watching South Main, Pine Hollow, Watch Wes Work, Schrodinger's Box and others.has gotten me off the parts cannon.. And the folks here at Dodge Forum have been more than generous.
I did change. Stay well
