Default Pcm

I had made a post a while back about my truck having ignitions problems after the transmission line blew. Reset the computer after a P0601 code showed and messed with it a bit more but the P0601 code came back which means I need to replace PCM, where would be the best spot I could get a new one and have it reprogrammed?

Go to your local auto parts store, and get one from them. That way, if there are problems, you can talk to a real human being, face to face, instead of some anonymous voice on the phone.

I agree, they claim they are programming it to your vehicle. They are not flashing it, just changing Vins. I can do that with my Snap On Triton.

Unfortunately my only local part store is NAPA which raises all their prices seriously insane. I found a website that has Plug and Play PCM’s called Flagship One. Would it be worth it or should I look elsewhere?

The problem becomes, NONE of the aftermarket PCM sellers have a decent reputation... I frequently see threads from folks that go thru two or three PCMs, each one worse than the last.... before they go elsewhere, and get lucky. Maybe drive to a nearby city, and hit up a parts store there.

I highly recommend All Computer Resources. I purchased from them a few yrs ago for my '01 1500 & had zero problems. The employee who assisted me over the phone was really helpful beyond expectations.
