1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Shuttering
I’ve been experiencing a significant shutter when I reach 40mph to 60mph whenever it’s going into overdrive. I replaced the TPS to see if that would help and the problem continued on. I topped off the fluid since it was low to see if it would help as well but it also has not worked. I pulled codes using my blue driver and saw a cylinder one misfire but I don’t know it’s it’s causing the issue. Is there anyway to test to see if it’s the torque converter or a component controlling it?
At around 42 mph, the truck shifts into O/D, with TCC locked, if you have a misfire, that is when you will feel it the most. Need to fix your misfire, and that will solve the shuddering problem.
Sounds good! I’m going to take a look at the plenum as well, I’ve been losing oil and wondering if it could be causing the misfire!
