Maybe i'll stick with the bumper mount then. They seem to be cheaper and it's like everybody around here has that style mount. I talked with a guy who has a bumper mount this morning on his 96' Ram and he said he hit a deer once going about 40 (he figures that was his speed while he was slowing down) and the only thing it did was damage the front air dam underneath the bumper. So maybe i'll look around for a bumper mount. In the end, whichever is cheaper is the one that is going on my Dodge haha[8D]

Sorry, I must have been thinking of the Elk we have around here, though that might be kinda small. A full grown white tail buck could weigh as much as 400 lbs though.

Mines a frame mount Westin, I got it used for just over $300 after buying the parts kit

But I can totaly see how if I rear ended somebody it would F up my front end pretty good. The top supports mount to the same place the AC cooler does. Thats just a peice of the body, not the frame. But the bottom bolts right to the frame, with some brackets of course.

if yours is like mine it is bult with a week spot (a spot thiner than the rest of the beacket) on the brackets to the frame so if you do hit something good they will bend/break and the guard will push into the front of the truck without damaging the frame, if it was made for a wintch mount or a reciver plate like warns tramsformer then you would deffanatley f-up your truck lol
