Paint
I was wondering what the best way to go about painting was. I have rust on each side of the bumper in the corners and a little underneath the bumper too. I also have a little under the the driver's side door, but that really isn't that noticeable. Should i just sand it, repaint it and put clear coat on it. Or is there some sort of spray that will stop rust or slow it down that i can put on before paint???
Thanks
Thanks
theres a cool new product on the market called por-15 once applied it invelopes the rust to create s seal that the rust will not work its way back through.if its surface rust your dealin with just sand it of use a good metal etch primer on any bare steel then prime and paint.....
Don't use por. I've talked to several body shop guys that have used it, and they say it's hard to work with.
They recommended this to me instead: http://www.magnetpaints.com/underbody.asp
Haven't gotten to try it yet, but I plan on doing the whole frame on my V10 when I get a chance...and by chance, I mean the $$$ to buy enough and the time to take the box/doghouse off. [8D]

I painted the entire underbody of a Jeep this summer with Por-15, and I thought it was sweet. Its suppose to be really go from what I hear, and I didn;t have a problem working with it at all. For a professional quality color match paint try http://www.expresspaint.com/ I got it for the rust on the bottom of my drivers door. It matches perfectly and seems really nice. You do need a Urethane Reducer to mix with it though, but its not to pricy for that. The paint itself is damn expensive since its color match. I paid $50 for 1/2 a pint! They have a few diffrent types of paint. Make sure to get the good stuff.
Sand it down, or sand blasting works best, and put a good rest preventative primer on there. A few coats. Then a few coats of the paint, and some clear coat. Good as new, literially!!!
