Well guys got a call from Dave at the warrenty dept at Edelbrock.

really nice guy .. really wants to take care of me...

the deal is that i must have gotten a bad batch of headers...so he's shipping me out a set of brand new ones as of yesterday and they want/need me to ship the old ones back so they can examine the cause of the coating failure..

only downfall is that i dont want any downtime on my truck so they need to ship me the new set first,,, and obviously in order to steer away from any fraudulant claims i had to pretty much buy a new set for 350$ (funny b/c i spent 300 at summit for the set)

so they charged my card 350 and shipped the new headers..as soon as i get them swapped out they want me to fill out a survery investigation report and send the old ones back the the company....

all in all really happy with there service... super nice guys... just a drag that i had to buy a new set... no worries though as soon as they recieve the old headers they will refund me 115% (extra for shippping and handling)

if you get bum parts from edelbrock...there customer service will make up for it and they are really avid of making customers happy..

For those still looking for headers, I still contend that Edelbrock are among the best for our trucks. Hope this isolated bad experience doesn't turn folks off. My headers have been perfect from day 1.

 

yea i asked her something too and didnt get a response yet. you should try asking patric.

 

im with silver..even though i had a bad experience..there customer serivce was great enought for me to forget about all this header stuff... i actually just sat that and shot the sh*t with the edelbrock guy for a good 20 mins before we even started to talk about headers and stuff....

 

you gotta be FRIGGEN kidding me.... got them new headers on..not EVEN a MONTH old and started to show sighns of corosion... thats the reason why i sent the old ones back and edelbrock sent me new ones... i have no idea what im doing wrong... i figured i might have nicked the last ones to start the rusting..but these ones i installed (when i did the elec fan conversion and the plenum fix and msd install) like 3 weeks ago maybe 4 weeks ago... are JUST started to spot... and i MADE sure i didnt nick any part of it...i took and old bed sheet and wraped them up when i installed them... i dunno if its the wetness from the outside... im calling edelbrock AGAIN next week... performance was nice.. but with the coating on them allowing the metal to corode obviously negates the performance of the coating and not keeping the temps under the hood where they are saposed to me... the coating is saposed to act like a header wrap and keep temps low and obviously if its rusting then its not doing its job...i dont think i could messed up installing headers TWICE... ive been bolting headers on engines for years... this is the first time ive seen rusting this quick

ill tell ya im all sorts of pissed off... rediculous i gotta put ANOTER set on... vic is gonna hear from me

p.s. sorry to dig up a dead post but i figured if anyone is looking for headers they may wanna read this post... im gonna let edelbrock know that i told everyone on here that my headers are rusting...

 

dude that really sucks... maybe you should stay away from the coated ones...
