Try disconnecting and by-passing the remote starter system.

regardless of what kind of alarm remote he has... he should still be able to turn on the lights... ive never installed or seen an alarm system (aftermarket that is ) that completley bypasses all controls for the driver... i know there tapped into every damn circuit..but never take complete control

jackin a thread again .. sorry

MECP stands for Moble Electronic Certification Program.. mainly a legal liscence so everyone knows you took a test and passed so you know waht your talking about... means nothing if you dont have experience... i started to study for it but then i left the intsall business for a while... you guys may not have it up in cananda... i know its international but if your out of the US ..no one cares about it.

back to the problem, how cold is it out there?

i knwo when i used to drive a chevy 6.2 diesel and it got super cold out, it would turn maybe twice and then dead. no lights, nothing. i had paralleled brand new 1100 cca batteries, and when i tried to jump it it would do nothing but drain the donor car to the point that i would have two dead vehicles.

eventually i took both batteries out, charged them full, plugged in my block heater, and changed the alternator. then it started and never had the same problem again all winter.

when the truck was running, what was the voltmeter in the cab reading? it could be an insufficient charge, you may even need to get a higher output alt depending on your alarm/starter system and what kind of stereo you are running. (i.e. an amp and some big subs)
