Not that I could tell yet. I go back to work today, long drive on highway, maybe I'll notice something. It my be hard for me to tell, however, cause I'm still getting used to the extra power my Hypertech gave me when I programmed it last week. The PCV valve is on the opposite valve cover and goes to a fitting on the side of the intake.

cool, that's exactly the way I was going to do it when I get a K&N filter for it. The way I look at it, that hose connection is there to draw air out of the motor which is hot. that hot oily air will increase your intake air temp slightly causing a slight drop in power.

I know every time I pull mine off and plug the intake side, it runs better, mines just not filtered so it doesnt stay that way long. I need to start a list of things for summit racing and include that filter as one of the things on the list.

Yeah, I'm not sure how the PCV valve works on the other side - help refresh me?? The hose from it goes directly into the intake manifold, so I assume there is some bad air still going in. I know on race cars they use exhaust vacuum to pull the crankcase gases out, by eliminating the hose like I did I am a little concerned that the engine may not be evacuating properly, even though is has a "breathable" filter on it now. Any engineers out there have an idea on this?

Nice setup you have Steve!

The vent breather filter should help a little bit with mileage/performance. Not sure if I missed it but adding the filter instead of the breather tube into your intake could fail an etest if they are **** (Cali for sure).

Thanks!

Yup, it would fail the visual for sure. but it's only a hose and a breather and would only take a minute to swap out.

Ok, with that being said, considering I still have the stock air cleaner with the K&N drop-in, They have small breather filters that would fit on the fitting on the air cleaner that I removed the breather hose from. Instead of capping that hole, would it be beneficial to install one of these small filters ($10) for a little more air flow, or not?

probably not... it would be more of a PITA to keep it maintained I would think. cap it off and get a bigger air filter. I have a 6x7" round filter that helps out a lot with the top end and even slightly on the low end. i'd recommend going that route or something in between the stock cone & the bigger one I mentioned. (this assuming you have the K&N FIPK)

Nope, No FIPK....Yet! Like I mentioned earlier, I really haven't been able to tell if this made any difference because of the big change I am noticing now from my new Hypertech.....
