Plain and simple greed. I actually believe it has to do with demand and shipping cost. Muskegon and Grand Haven both have pipelines and refineries. I find it cheaper there, then the places that have to haul it in from a distance.

Exxon just posted the largest yearly profit of ANY American company EVER last year- $235 Billion---PROFIT---NOT gross.
I think your number is a bit off. ExxonMobil only posted a $36 Billion net profit for 2005.

As far as gas prices, I went to the mall today with one of my friends. We filled up her Grand Prix....$1.44 for Regular [:'(] Glad my truck is in storage right now because premium is $1.57 [&:]

Don't know if that matters or not. We have a pipeline terminal 5 miles from the house, and yet our prices are usually higher than in central Missouri where the in-laws live. Their gas gets hauled form here to there so you think they would be higher, not lower. Who Knows????? I just wish it would go back down to $1.50 and stay there!

Socha - not to jack the thread, but where is *******? Sounds familiar. Years ago I had a buddy from Hillman, Mi over by Alpena. We used to go up there and hunt Snowshoe rabbits and deer. Just curious.....

Might want to check out this website/link. If you put in your zip code, it will tell you the price of individual gas stations in your area.

$1.44?! Did you mean $2.44 Burning Rom?

******* is about an hour south of the Mackinac Bridge, I-75 runs right through town (Exit 279 and 273 ). If you were going to Alepna and you were on I-75 ******* is the exit you take. Right on M-32, which goes right to Alpena

Yep, thats it! Hillman is like 20 miles off I-75. Nice country up there. It's been 14 years since I last went hunting there, but I still remember how "clean" the air was and how quiet it was out in the woods. My buddy's father owned a big logging company in the U.P., but he lived with his mom and stepdad in Hillman.

Sorry to "jack" the thread - can't help it once in a while.....
