Default drivetrain switch

I have a 97 with a engine noise and have the opportunity to purchase a 2000 (totaled) with a good motor and tranny for cheap. My question is: Will the newer system fit in the 97 and if so are there any modifications that need to be done?

What size do you have and what size is the 2000? If they're both the same you will not have a problem. I'm assuming the trannies are the same too.

In this case, I can that I do not think size matters. I have the entire drivetrain to work with. My question revolver around the FI system, computer, etc. Is this a direct replacement? I have been told that the two years used the same drivetrain and was courious if this was true.

There are seperate comps for the 5.2 and 5.9, so I'd swap the comps to just for the hell of it. It should all bolt right up.
