Default exhaust pricing

i was wondering how much yall paid for yalls exhaust work. lets say no headers- just the piping- 3-3.5 inch down pipe with high flow cat and no muffler? or with a flowmaster 40? just wondering how much i can expect to pay (ive tried asking the muffler shop how much to expect to pay they seem to not want to put a number on it)

o yea and also as long as it wasnt a local shop, which muffler shop did yall use? (Meineke?)

Mine was done by Midas, they had a $299 special for a Flowmaster 40 with dual outs, and chrome tips. The special might still be going on - the guys here said it was a long-term promotion when I was there a couple months ago.

I would not suggest doing that. The fuel injection needs some back pressure to operate efficiently, which the muffler helps to provide. Not to mention the fact that these things are loud enough with a performance muffler. I had a Ravin resonator on mine before, which is basically like not having a muffler, and it was so loud you couldn't carry on a conversation while going down the highway. My Flow 40 dual setup is loud when you accelerate and around town, but it isn't so bad at cruise speed. Do a forum search on " exhaust" there is lots of info and some sound clips of various systems. I'm real happy with my setup though. Make sure you use 2 1/4" out pipes from the muffler - 2 1/2" is too big for a 5.2 motor. Too big = less torque on bottom end. Been there - done that!
