Fog Lamp Replacement
Hello all. This is my first message post on the Forum. I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 QC, 4x4, 5.9L. One of my stock fog lamps burnt out and I am having quite a difficult time trying to remove the bulb. I am starting to think that I might have to replace the whole unit. Does anyone know how to remove the bulb, or will I have to replace the whole thing? Any inputs would be appreciated. Thanks.
yeah i have a burnt out fog light too.. on a 2001 dodge. and i cant figure out how to get the bulb out.. and if so what size bulb is it? i hope i dont have to replace the whole fog light
i looked it up in my chilton book to be shure the bulb should twist out of the housing if its stuck you can thake the housing out to look at it its just 2 screws going down fron the facia into the light the parn #for the bulbs is #893 if you need a pic im shure if you go to the merry christmas thred at the top of the thred page and download that service manuel ittl tell you for shure its a reall good one
The bulb info is in the owners manual..... Do not touch the halogen bulb with your fingers!!!!!!!

i think i have aftermarket fog lights on my truck but im not sure.. they are circular like the factory ones but are kinda yellowish, like they put out a yellow light. i tried replacing the bulb but couldnt. i cant twist it out, theres 2 screws in the back, i took those out and pulled the bulb and wires out. but the bulb is like soldered to the wires [:@] so does this mean i have to buy a whole new set of fog lights??????
I just reached behind the bumper and disconnected it. I think mine was a 896 or something I'm not sure but something like that it wasn't the 893 I thought it was supposed to be. I went to get some higher wattage ones and Fishers had some but wanted $40 for them. They were Wagner's. For that price I decided to go pick up the stock one for $8.
