Hey just me again.
Have decided to look and get a 01,02 It will give me the latest of this gen and give me the cab style I want.
What are the problem areas for these years?
It will cost more then I expected to pay but what the heck.
I have my AT so I will hook it up during my test run this 02 has most of the toys is silver on grey cloth, seat covers would be needed. My Maggie loves the mud.
But who knows maybe I'll find a leather unit yet.
I know my way around the basics dive line TC diffs suspensions but the TDC will be all new to me I'm assumming the newer models will send all important info to the Computer so I will be able to pull a live data from it during the test pressure temp and other info to see how the engine is running. what pressure is good for the fuel I know this is very important I will make sure I capture this. what other info for the TCD is important?
Thanx Alex
Just to give you an idea of what i'm looking at here is the link to the ad for this one

Sorry, been gone awhile. Well the computer I'm usin' and was was cleared so all the ram pics are off so expect a new sig in the next year.

Upkeep with the search. The ram I have found looks to be good although there is a bent header. Tough luck. I would love to get the 5.9, but will probably have to go for less. Oh well, still a dodge eh?

OK I'm confused well maybe i know the 3 gen started 2002 but I was just looking at a 2002 2500 and it is the gen two.
I ran the VIN and it is 2002 model so is this like the fords did the first year new models for the 1500 only that year so the 2500 is a gen 2 in 2002 I do not mind since I want the gen 2 quad cab not the gen 3 with the full doors.
I was getting confused since on the same lot they had 02 1500 and it was the new look.
Thanx Alex

2 gen 1500's ended in 01 some 2500 and more 3500's carreyed into 02 so you will find some 2500 and 3500 2 gen 02 but o dont think youll find a 1500 they dident all stop at the exact time depend on the plant too

unofical rule of thumb 2nd gen ended in 01 3rd gen began in 03, 02 is the odd year

So it is the automatics. I thought, oh wait. It is the FORDs that have the cruddy m5 trannys. But yeah, the one I put on looked real clean and nice. No problems so far. It is rust free and has only a new muffler, but otherwise is in great shape.

I went to see the 02 today looked great to few minor marks around the tail gate but no big dings can't say how it runs since it wouldn't start dead battery said he would boost but he didn't have the guy there to it.asked if I would come back.
Said we'll see where the road takes me I may head back tomorrow but me thinks if ya was gonna tag a unit for 30 grand you would make sure it started.
lots to see with the way it looked I just may have picked it up it the thing ran, with the snow I found myself looking to go four wheeling.
still have the option of the end lease unit comming up so.....
Maybe I'll go back and offer up 15 and say it could cost me the rest to replace the TCD from what I know it most likley is perfect but maybe he dosen't know just how good they are, he didn't sound like this was a first time it didn't start.

Yeah, there's really no excuse for a $30K late model vehicle not starting when you'd like to take it for a test drive. I went to look at a "mint condition" truck at a dealership last Summer, the first thing I noticed was the dead battery, the second thing I noticed was the term "mint condition" is way over used.

I ended up buying from a private party, dealers suck [:@]

This may seem like dumb question but is there a difference between the 2001 2500 and 2002 2500
The reason I ask is I have seen so far about 3 02 they were all around the 25-30G mark the 01 are about 5-10g less with the same mileage better equipped in most cases.
I could understand if the thing was a gen3 but it is not, more then likely then not leftovers from the 01 while they were retooling for the gen3.
Anyway I was just wondering what if anything is worth the extra cash just for an 02 especially when it is still just a gen2
Looking forward to the input.
Alex
