Far as I know, 2002 was an odd year. I heard the 2002 trucks didn't change until mid year so I think it goes down to what month it was made.

depends on where it was made too as in whitch plant

as for the 02 2gens compared to the 01's there really isent much diffrence besids the year i think the 02's are a little more uncomon but i cant see why they would be 5-10g more id save my mony and go with an 01

I remember when ford did the big change they built and sold new style in there 150 line but the rest were the older style
The 250 and larger didn't change until the next model year since it looks like the 02 2500 at least all the ones I have seen are still gen2 they most likely other then maybe some controls. This is the great part for me is going to be the finding of the right unit for me.
If I get a 01 I will have more for upgrades yeaha!!
I was thinking of spending only 20,000 the 01 are in the range and this eol that is coming shortly is a 02, but it will be around the 16 to 17 mark. But this one is not up until the end of April has now only 65,000 kms on it should be worth the wait my buddy was the one who sold this unit in 02 he has been the one who has looked after the guy who bought it and he say's this unit was fully dealer maintained and other then regular maintenance it has been a great unit. He has just ordered a new one walked in and said get me one in this color. It is a month away yet, though me thinks since I’ve waiting this long though one more month will not kill me.
I hope.
Alex

For all those that followed with interest I have just got back from buying my new truck
65768km on the clock. the eol came in today for last service Hell I can't figure it out, ether.
The old owner said he wanted it running perfect when he trades it in my Buddy called me to come in and take a look since during the week he had found a unit for this guy and he bought it. Mine will be ready on Friday between now and then the new tires are going on and the pillar gauge set with boost Trans temp and fuel pressure.
They will also do anything that may fall under warranty work she is completely stock full optioned even the leather I wanted.
Not a mark any where in or on her.
Best thing is out the door she cost me less then 17,000 CAD for a 02 TCD
It is still under warrantee too so I will be able to be sure the IP is good when the LP goes it comes out an after market solution is used for replacement looking forward to a long road trip this summer. 8,000 plus km
Next week hew exhaust and perhaps an air ride system
Will put up some pics as soon as I get them
Alex

Nice, got any pics? I am still on the hunt. Believe it or not, it is hard to find a 4x4 for under $4,000 'round here. I have found some really nice 2WD trucks, but they look lowered. Plus I need the 4WD for gettin' around when muddin' or campin'. I'd like to get the manual floor shift transfercase, but I ain't seein' it. I found a nice beauty for $4,000, 4X4, shortbed, 5.2, auto tranny, 3.55 gears, pushbar, new oil ban, new headers, new spark plugs, new u-joints, but those ain't important, their cheap. Well, I'd love some pics alex.

if your interested in doing a little traveling, these are all up in the Duluth/Superior area, so about 3 to 4 hours away from you (depending on traffic), if you do get interested in any of these, talk it over with your folks, and let me know, I can even do some leg work for you and check them out, I make it up to Duluth once a week, so its not to far for me

Hey thanks redneck. We make it to Duluth 'bout once a year. I've been goin' up every year since I was in diapers. Love it up there. I found some pretty sweet 4x4s 'round here, but I'll check 'em out on that link. Thanks again.

Thanks a million. I am sorry to say though (well to y'all) that I have started an interest in FORD Broncos. They are cheap and ain't hard to find in 4x4. But I know they rust, but hold up. Plus it's just a weekend user and weekday fixer.
