Well I have a 5 speed in my 95 318. And the transmission went out on me about 5 months ago and I didn't get the truck running until about a month ago. I just couldn't find a transmission to fit it. Man if I was you, I would just keep the automatic. While the transmission was out, I had thoughts about puttin an automatic in it, and then I had to replace the computer, dash, and all the little odds and ends. But I did think about putting a floor shifter in. But just stay with the automatic, they are alot easier to find.
