I got mine from moparts...

Hughs has a new set of heavy duty's that out flow the R/T's and are cheeper ($8-900 bux)

for anyone with head problems... my suggestion is if your on a budget, get the bare castings and build them up using stock parts. Most of the aftermarket stuff for heads is overkill in my opinion. Unless your drag racing your truck, you probably can live w/o the hi-po goodies in the heads.

That would be me. You know my mantra: Trucks are for hauling cargo, not hauling ***.

Steve,

Got a link for Hugh's?

yup, been doing great. you need to determine what it is you want from your truck and also factor in the truck itself... QC, STD cab... 2x4 4x4 etc... to determine which setup to get (2.02"s or 1.92"s), port or not to port etc...

How can I figure that? I'd rather buy bare heads and build them. I have a 1997 Extended Cab 2WD.

you could go either way with your truck... the 2.02's would let it breath way better but you might loose a little low end. that loss may not make a difference with your truck BC it's lighter then the 4x4's by a few hundred pounds.

Even my 1.92's with the cut intake screamed on the top end. actually it was pretty powerful after 2500 rpms. I just lost too much low end torque for my likings...

Also consider the other mods that you have and or will put on...
