RE: lack of power
I have a 1999 2500 with a 5.9! I dont know if it is normall for these trucks to not break the tires loose but mine wont. The only time that it does is in the rain, ice, snow, or mud. I think that I have the stock gears in. Also the tire size I believe is around a 31-33 but I will check and repost tomorrow on the tire size. I have a K&N Cold air intake, and a 40 seiries single in single out flowmaster exhaust. It is a 2 1/4 " Ran out just over the rear end. I was wondering what you could do to give it more power?? i was thinking a new 180 degree thermostat?? Let me know please... thanks

RE: lack of power
This is a response to the original question. I had the same problem with my 99 Ram, v8 two wheel drive and manual trans. The dealer did a fast check and said the intake manifold gasket was bad. $1000 later I am back on the road and power is restored. It gets worse though. I just found out today that I have another bad intake manifold gasket. It took 30000 miles to destroy the first one and 13000 miles to destroy the second one. I can infer from this that Dodge can't build a motor any more. I am done with Dodge and want to get rid of my truck. If you do a google search for "engine ping dodge" you can learn the gory details. I will never buy Dodge again!![X(]

RE: lack of power
All trucks/cars have inherent manufacturing problems/ design flaws. The intake is one of Dodge's. Fix it the way descibed in many posts here and you will not have any more problems out of it. Get the aluminum belly pan from apsprecision.com and follow the directions. Trash the metal gasket that comes with the kit and get the Felpro gasket.
You don't have to Google anything. Use the search function here, and you will find more info on that belly pan gasket than you want or have time to read.
