tryin to talk friend OUT of buyin ford
Thats sweet Tani, a friend of mine has a SexJ, at least thats what we call it lol.
Hes just put a 4.5" Lift on it with 32" Pro Comp MT's. It sits prety high and is sweet. Idealy I'd like to go with a YJ or any other Wrangler. I've got sime pics of when my other friend slid it into a tree. He was going really slow though and just barely screwed the fender up.

The Ford High Boy's rock,he can't hardly go wrong with one of them, the biggest problem with the High Boy was the steering assist assembly and I'm not sure if it affected all years or not.I used to plow snow with one and it was a nice truck,a real cast iron 4 speed and transfer case,Hell,it probably won't get any worse gas mileage than a good amount of 2nd gen Rams are getting and still stomp most newer Rams off road.
Ford makes good engines (V8) but their vehicles are so difficult to work on. There's always a hose or line in the way of something, the quality of the bolts are substandard and the plastic parts (interior or whatever) are very fragile. The wiring is alot more complicated than it has to be. Most F150s built after 1997 have serious issues with the tie-rod popping off the knuckle due to rust (READ THIS!). Great for sunny California but not a high humidity/cold/salt area (NorthEast US, Canada). Ford's are not friendly to the DIY kinda person. Friends don't let friends drive Fords.
