Default Ok, just moved 1 step closer to a 3rd gen 4x4...

found an '03 QC 4x4 diesel that has been modded a little. has a turbo back exhaust, CAI and an Edge perf module. the $ for those mods alone are between $1300 and $1900 bux depending on the edge perf module setup and the exhaust setup. either way, this truck screams compared to the others I drove and has my name written all over it. did a couple of lengthy test drives and it appears to be getting close to 20 mpg on average. all of the other trucks I drove were around 16~17 mpg on the test drives. and they were just "ok" power wise. One of which was an HO model cranking out 325 HP at 2900 rpms. this truck i'm looking at is WAY stronger than that one. It also has 315's on it as well. No lift kit that i can tell however it is about 3" taller than my truck. It's a black sport heavy duty model...

anyway, i'm going to get it inspected tomorrow at a diesel shop and go from there.

nope, it has to go in order to offset the costs of the $30k price tag this truck has...

i'm thinking of 1st offering it for sale with all the mods and see what comes back, and if that doesnt work, then stripping off most of the mods and selling them off separate from the truck.

btw, the M3 is going too if I buy this truck. by my calculations... going from 2 vehicles down to 1 truck will save about $1k in insurance and will be about $100~150 bux cheeper/mo on fuel & maint based on 2k/mo driving.

hell yeah, i'll still be around! I'd expect that it'll stay in it's current condition with the exception of a better tranny cooler & pan. this truck already has a butt load more power than the HO motor (325 hp 555 tq). with the oversized tires on there too... they're 315 70r17's if I remember correctly... I dont know what that works out to height wise.

i cant get over how nasty that truck looks... doesnt even look like a westcoast truck either.. ya know.. the nose in the air and the rear near the ground.... that thing is nuts! keep us updated if you part out the performance stuff on your 00 gasser...
you really think youd be able to leave it alone and not tinker? just a itsy bit?
