Installed head unit...now dont have any "thump"
Are you using an amp?
Using the factory speaker wiring?
Where did you tap into the wiring.
Are you using RCA outs and or wire connections from the deck.
Also which model deck do you have. The manufacturers web site my help with details/manual.

If you had it installed somewhere i would take it back and explain the problem, maybe they can fix it, most factory units in dodges have an amp on the speakers , maybe they disconnected the factory amp to install the unit. I'd ask whomever installed it. GOOD LUCK
on your HU, look for an option called "Fie", this has 2 options, off or on. If you want to hear sound coming from the rear, "Fie" should be off. No sound from the rear, "Fie" should be on. Atleast this is the case with my pioneer HU. Clarion also has selectable modes. Cant recall them off hand. Another thing you should check is the "Loud" option. "Loud" puts more power out into the channels.
My wattages were just for samples...not realistic, I know.
You'd be surprised just how much power factory radios are pushing these days.
Does your HU use a common ground set up?
It may just be hit or miss.
Hard to say if you dont have the owners manual.
There should be a sticker on the radio.
Check out circuit city or wally world.
They make a harness kit that allows you to keep all the wiring simple plug ins, if you didn't already butcher the wires.

do you have the infinity system? the upgraded factory sound system.. if so and you didnt bypass that stock amp ... that could be causing your problems...

Thats the problem...I have the factory infinity system...so something I didnt do is the problem..I installed the headunit myself with the plug and play kits u can get from pep boys and places like that. SO what do I need to do because it has the factory infinity stuff? I have heard about this before.
Socha and anyone else with this problem, I did a small search and found this:
You have to connect the blue wire from the truck to the amp turn on wire on you decks harness.
I tried it and it worked!

Read my post from the Dakota section and there's a wiring diagram you can follow...

glad to see you got it worked out!!!! another thing to think about... in the event you want to upgrade to a larger more safisticated system... youll need to bypass the factory amp and run dedicated speaker wires to the speakers..and bypass the factory wiring as well
