Hope my plenum gasket isnt shot....HELP
I'd stick with the plenum Gasket being your problem. In my truck if i drove it down the highway for an hr or so id be down a qt of oil and it was b\c of my plenum gasket. I had no leaks anywhere else. as soon as that was fixed my oil doesnt drop at all anymore.
I think I am facing the plenum gasket problem too.
Is this something I can fix myself or would I need to bring it into a shop-keeping in mind I know nothing about engines. Also, if I need to bring it to the shop how much am I looking to spend for the fix?

well it was screwed I had teeth from gears layin on the bottom of the pan so I told them i didnt want a stock rebuild I wanted it bulletproof. You name it and it was replaced with somthing heavy duty. that includes my torque convertor and the input shaft. As well as an extra tranny cooler. In the end the tranny shop said it was the most expensive and strongest set up they have put into a truck. So it should last me forever and so far is holding up nicley.

Now that you mentioned the highway deal....I noticed the problem when I came back from a trip I took from PA to SC, then back agian to PA, so it was about 500ish miles each way and 8+ hours....all the highway driving might have done it then?
its not necessarily the highway driving that did it... it just worn out but because on the highway your rpms stay constant for longer it's just eaiser to notice the drop in oil.
so today i came to an abrupt stop and my oil pressure went way down, so i checked it and i am 2 qts low.
fun fun fun, the plenum gasket is shot to shoot. how hard is it to replace?
if someone tells me how to do it, I will post the pics
