Default Snow plow on 2000 Sport

Anyone know if you can put a plow on a 2000 Quad Cab Sport? Now is the time to try and grab one(end of season deals). I want to get a Fisher Minute Mount but I don't know if I can with the Sport front end.
I tried the online matchup with Meyer, Blizzard and Boss plows and Blizzard had a definite NO and I believe Meyer did also. Fisher has a matchup but it didn't ask if the truck was the Sport or not.

yes you can put snow plows on a 00 sport or any ram for that matter, i install snow plows along with a bunch of outher stuff at work now i havent herd of those brands you mentioned (i live in canada thow we may not have them up here) but i know Artic and Western snow plows will go on there and there very good qualty too snow sport and snow bear i belive will also go on there however they are alot cheaper (both in cost and qualty) now depending on what you plow and how much snow you will be plowing youll wanna go on qualty from that for exmple if you plow your drive way once a week or so the cheaper ones will be fine but if your plowing your drive way and your buddys/neighbours or are planning on starting your own bussness (that sounds so offical lol) then get a good one

anouther thing to think of is beefing up your front end since you have a 1500 driving around with that extra weight (not so much in the summer with just the mount on but in the winter wen you have the blade on too) youll prob wanna beef up your suspention i put a lot of air bags on the front of trucks with blades that would be my recomondatuion for that, and one more thing to think of id if you have an automatic it will be harder on it too just some thing to think of there

I would really like to go with Fisher...they are made here in Maine and parts and such are very readily available for them.

I just did a quick matchup for the Western and it said that for the sport that bumper notching was necessary. How bad does that look do you know?

Western, Meyer, and Fischer plows should all fit on your truck. I would advise against putting a BOSS on a 1/2 ton as their setups (even the straight blades) are quite heavy. I also wouldn't suggest going over 7.5ft in blade length. Anything larger/heavier will accelerate the wear on your front end components.

As far as the bumper notching, I have no clue. I know I have seen 3/4 ton sport models with plows on them. I wouldn't think it would be any different.

you just half to notch the air dam on the bottem of the bummper (the plastic on the bottem) its not that bad its more so to make it easer to hook it up to the blade

something else you might wanna consider is a polly blade (plastic blade on a mettal frame) its a lot lighter

poly blades are not lighter! actually they are heavier! they require more steel to support the poly blade... you can see for yourself on any of the plow sites.. just look at the weight!
