ive been wanting a resonator because from what i understand they can be extremely loud () however i was wondering if they have any performance effects. are they free flowing? basically i dont knwo anything about them other than the noise, and if anyone has anything to say about them id appreciate it.

My friend got one on his Magnum V6. His exhaust was straight piped and it sounded like **** with the tip on there [&:] But I never heard it w/out the tip, and since V6's sound like crap anyways I can't actually say it sounded bad because of the tip lol

I had a Ravin resonater with 2 1/2" outs and 3 1/4" tips. Loud as hell. Actually it was irritatingly loud on the highway. Thats one reason I got rid of it. All it was was a muffler shaped can with some angle iron like "z's" in it with holes drilled in them. I'd suggest a Flowmaster 40 or something equivalent.

A friend of mine had a resonator on his 2000 silverado, the thing was incredibly loud, which was awesome, but it was really way too loud. I would suggest going with flowmaster american thunders because they will give you great sound but not be overly powerful, but if you want real loud, then go with your original idea

Just put a Y where the muffler goes and run staight pipes. As long as the converter is there should do fine.
